I suspect there will be few, if any, interested parties in the UK fraternity. But in case someone says †you should have told me!" after the event.... My Sigma 500mm prime is on eBay with a couple of days to go. |

JK, try search for sigma 500 nikon... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sigma-EX-APO-HSM-500mm-f-4-5-Lens-Nikon-Mount-/281846398139?hash=item419f5abcbb:g:YscAAOSw14xWN8rY |

I did a search using 'Sigma 500mm f4.5' Good price for Eric's lens. The ones sold by others that I found are at least £2000 more! If I was paying nearly £3000 l would want my Nikon 400mm f2.8 AFS. |

May pull it and realist to try to get more hits...only 170 in 6days, of those only 16 watching. Even at my highish starting price I did expect some activity...maybe they are watching and waiting till last minute The new version of this lens is £3300 but mine is the older version and has not got the DG ( digital glass ) price tag/label. Factor in its used, 10years old and limited market... frankly I wasn't expecting much over £1000 for it. Maybe that's unrealistic in today's market. |

The reason is the / in the f stop. If you remove that it will be found more easily by the search engine. I suggest revise it to 'Sigma 500mm f4.5 HSM'. |

jk wrote:The reason is the / in the f stop. Thanks JK ...didn't notice that. Removed it for last 48hrs and there was an visible increase in the numbers visiting and watching. It went for £1070... which is about the same price I paid for it, albeit some years ago! |

Well that seems like a worthwhile rental. With the current interest rates you would only have got £10-20 if the money was in the bank. Now you can go to Wex and get the new Nikon 200-500 for £1180. |

It's either the 14-24 or the 17-35 (or both) to go next, in my rationalisation (nay slaughter) of my equipment collection. Too much duplication and equipment sitting unused year after year. I have often bemoaned the fact that we accumulate inappropriate baggage or our needs change, and it would be so nice to get rid and start again on a green field site....well I am getting there. |

14-24 will get you a better return. The 17-35mm f2.8 AFS is nice for normal or IR use. I recommend you keep but it is your choice. I deliberately kept the 17-35mm f2.8 over the chance of getting a 14-24mm. Instead I went for your Sigma 12-24mm. I like the extra width!! |
