A warm welcome to Jim Carlin, from Hampshire, a friend of Graham, an ex Navy chap Graham tells me.

Perhaps this little bit of fun will make Jim feel at home, this is HMS Astute setting off from Barrow-in-Furness where she was built, for the short trip to Glasgow, before she began her sea trials, in the background is Piel castle, taken through the Customs House archway overlooking the main Chanel in and out of Barrow docks, the Red Arrows were grafted in from a visit to Mildenhall some years previously.

Jim encountered one or two issues when he registered, hopefully this have now been fixed.  So welcome aboard!

Welcome Jim.
Glad that you managed to survive the turbulence and have landed here.
Hopefully we can make your visits worthwhile.

If you have a question then just post a new thread in the appropriate forum (if it isnt the right place I can always move it), and we will try to answer.

Good Evening everyone

Thank you all vey much for inviting me to join your website, I had a few issues but with the super help of the on site experts I was soon up and running.

I am Jim.  I served in the Royal Navy for 25.5 years leaving the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer Clearance Diver.
Being a diver I have done a little underwater photography, none of which will be published as it was not that good and most of it was classified!

I was given a Nikon D5300 for my birthday 18 months ago and have not stopped learning what there is to know about my camera and how to take good photos since.

Yes again thank you all

Regards

jim

Welcome Jim

We are small but perfectly formed group with diverse interests. Ask any questions, show us your photos, have a laugh. It's like being down the pub  but without the beer.

On reflection that sounds quite miserable
