Maybe we are just around the corner from the D7000 replacement or is it really the D400 ?

There was a lot of talk about the two lines being merged into one. Maybe this is it.

I have heard that a few times as well.

In some ways it does make sense.
The cost differential between FX and DX has reduced so maybe DX range will reduce.
Personally I would prefer a D400 and a D7100 camera choice but maybe we will only get one or other!

Well from my point of view it needs to be the D400, there are plenty of 'consumer models' of DX format but only one with professional features.

That said I can't afford any right now and if I could it would be an FX format. So I suppose I am out of order with these comments...

I would prefer a model that had all the 'professional' featues but that was the size of a D7000.

In fact I wish the D600 had been D7000 sized.  It is almost but is I think still too big to fit in my underwater housing as a replacement for my D70.

I am surprised that there havent been any credible leaked images, which are normally evident before a new DLSR launch?

Wouldn't surprise me if it was something else....but I remain optimistic a new DX pro body will emerge, eventually.
