Since I dont have easy access these days to the latest cameras I was wondering....... Has anyone done a comparison of the D600 v. D7000 with respect to resolution and general image quality? The only thing I could find was from the incomparably vague Ken Rockwell. http://kenrockwell.com/nikon/d600/vs-d7000.htm It says nothing really! Eric, re hasn't got ... If one looks more in-depth, things like a flash-PC and 10-pin remote are also lacking. I was surprised that the D600 does have an AF motor and Ai-ring. In another review, the D600 was criticised for the slownesss of buffer-write-to-SD (by a reviewer who had D4 experience). I handled a D600 some months ago, and I still do not like the feel of the camera. Regards, Gilbert |

Eric, re: saved some... Good on you. To counter any hints of Nikon bashing here: the D600 may be the perfect camera for those who wants a full-frame (FX) camera and have hands the size of a Japanese lady. Regards, Gilbert |

To my mind the D600 is more similar to the D7000, D90 etc If we ignore sensor size and resolution only the D800 compares favourably to the D300S and D700 When I worked in retail I handled insurance replacements where equal or better was often specified At the moment, were the D300S to be discontinued, the D800 is the correct replacement for a D300S for the reasons outlined by Gilbert We have to think of the D600 as full frame consumer/entry level enthusiast while the D800 is the Full Frame Prosumer/Entry Level Pro The D7100 is the DX consumer/entry level enthusiast with the D300S still acting as DX Prosumer/Entry Level Pro (just shows how far ahead of it's time that camera was) I can't believe Nikon wouldn't continue to make cameras for this segment |
