I get this magazine periodically and I seem to have gotten on their mailing list. Today received a letter from the publishers (Bauer Media) saying they are ceasing publishing this magazine with immediate effect. Can't say it will be a big loss as the content has become quite stale. I wonder what other changes we will be seeing in the coming months as manufacturers seize the opportunity to thin and get rid ....all thanks to Covid of course ....and not ailing business plans.

I stopped buying magazines when I moved to Spain in 2007. As you say the content tends to be predictable and very stale. Apart from the odd technical review there is little stuff that is new.

A lot of changes I think. I used to get Amateur Photographer regularly for many years but magazines have become expensive and to my mind largely redundant. the idea of reading monthly magazine articles seems somewhat out of date nowadays, the authors and publishers putting it bluntly, need to find another outlet for their energy or investment. Many jobs and skills are disappearing and this latest event is really shaking the rafters. Some with publishing ambitions are turning to You Tube or their own websites, blogs or even facebook to 'get their name out there'. Some will flourish, others will no doubt wither on the vine. How to convert a promising web presence into a regular dinner on the table is the real challenge.

I get free rewards from the bank too - but none of them have any interest for me, I get the cinema tickets and give them to my kids... Many years ago I bought a magazine on photography, but that was more of a tutorial series. These days I "Google" for specific information or pick your brains!
