I think they are Autumn Crocus in the garden of the villa in this evening's last sunlight. We are having some good weather down here in Savagnac S France but sadly very few birds so far and not near enough for photos, I have got the 100-400mm lens and x1.4 with me.![]() Click here to comment on this image.

Apparently it’s the female midges that bite you. Your next macro assignment is to count how many of those little suckers are going to get you. ![]() I was photographing a sunset over Loch Maree back in the day and Jan took a photo of me (from the safety of the car) with my Gortex coat hood firmly tightened around my face, a scarf across my mouth and nose, gloves and trousers in socks. My head was completely hidden by a 2foot diameter black fog of gyrating beasties. The hardest thing was getting me and the camera back in the car without some of them joining me. I ran down the road with Jan driving after me and jumped in as she passed. The camera and car had the dents to prove it. Lol She insisted on spraying me when we got back to the cottage before I was allowed inside.

Jersey Tiger. What a nice find as they are currently only found along the south coast…though they are predicted to spread further North with global warming. May see one in Norfolk some day soon.![]()
