Visited this ancient church to see its medieval wall paintings. Quite spectacular to see but not ideal to photograph. The church itself was quite nice in the falling autumn sunlight.... Click here to comment on this image.

During a visit to see a recuperating friend in Worcestershire we had a few moments for some sightseeing. This is Little Malvern Priory which we were fortunate to get a guided tour around. Its history is mind blowingly involved from the 13th century and worth a visit. But hurry! It’s currently up for sale for a cool £13million. Taken on iPhone because we were late arriving, the tour was about to start as we dashed from the car park….and I left the Fuji in the car.   Click here to comment on this image.

A slightly tighter framing showing some of the multiple layers of rebuilding carried out over the intervening centuries. And even with this pleasant patio, I personally think at 13mill it’s overpriced as the living accommodation is a bit cramped and Spartan inside …with its max grade listing restrictions it cannot be altered. Well I live in a Grade II listed mill and the restrictions around that are painful enough. I imagine that is a Grade I listed building so even more restrictions apply. I have vowed never to buy another listed building! In a modern age with 3D printers and holograms I dont believe that the restrictions need to be as stringent as people/historians can always look back at pictures, holograms etc. However please note I am not advocating the place be trashed and a block of flats or the like be put in place, just an easing of the very parochial restrictions.
