One of the lads that does wildlife is using a Canon R5 or 6 I can't remember which one and he took a sequence of shots of a Great tit taking off and flying. He used the animal eye focus and everyone of the ten shots he took the eye and bird was sharp.
I've never seen anything like that and would have doubted it if I had not been there when he did it.

So currently Sony and Canon can do this with one of the cameras in their range.

Are we at or near another D3 moment in time where Nikon introduces something even better but is late to the market?  Z9 or Z8.

Well a Z9 has been rumoured but at a price. I think Mike paid about £2500 for his canon. Nikon should be able to update firmware to improve focus but it's more likely they will bring out a new model to get people to part with money.
