Some cracking photos there Jonathan. Were they sunrises or sunsets?
The group of people around the geyser is almost like primeval men worshipping the sun. Excellent study.
I don’t suppose you spent any time sunbathing in a deckchair on this holiday?

Thanks Eric.
There was daylight as we know it here (greyness mostly except on very clear days) but the sunrise and sunset periods were elongated.

Thanks Graham.
I think I would like to go back in the summer to explore further but there are so many other places to go.

I would not go in the summer - black flies are a real nuisance, to the point that a fly mask is needed!

I guess it must be similar to the midge situation in west of Scotland in summer.

I guess that’s the Icelandic version of the Copenhagen mermaid statue? Never understood why men find mermaids so alluring, if their facial attributes are strange like that one?
Is that a tufted duck in the background? One for Iain maybe?

Very nice display. Now…that looks like Jupiter (left) rising?

Yes I had edited my post when I realised it was the tail of the Plough not Orion’s Belt.
