I have the say. Canon's RF glass has been magnificent. During my foray with the EOS RP, I found the RF glass to be superb in every way. If anything I prefer the lenses that Canon has launched for its R series over Nikon's Z series lenses. A shame I hated to the EOS RP. |

With Nikon Z short mount there must be a Z2C adaptor? If there isn't I'm sure somebody could make one for the price of a pint of beer. |

If such an adapter was around then I think I might look to try and find the awesome Canon 17mm f4 Tilt/Shift lens. https://www.wexphotovideo.com/canon-ts-e-17mm-f4l-lens-1030477/ |

If Nikon would make one, Price aside , I would still be on the fence , as either ,..focal range is not that interesting at f2.0,...if it was f1.4 or faster I would save up for one...Or...if it was at 35-100 f2.0,...and the price was Not more than 2000,- usd. Why that PC 17 f4.0.....because of foc.length or `cause it`s a Canon ? ( I have noticed there are those that consider Canon`s PC glass to be superior to that of Nikon ) Personally, the Nikkor PC-E 19 f4.0 is of interest, but the price...as it is , the 14-24 kept Level on the D3X at No higher than 400 iso with cropping aplied in NX-D, is a workable substitute when shown in A3 format, perhaps even in A2 format ( have n`t tried A2 yet ). Going the Extreme route...there`s the LAOWA Venus PC 15 f4.5...something I consider myself...saw some examples that looked Convincing. I remember you being a fellow 14-24 owner,so..why the Canon ? |

The Nikon 19mm f4 just doesnt have the breadth of capture of the Canon but the native mount on the Nikon 19mm does have many advantages. https://www.borrowlenses.com/product/Nikon-19mm-PC-E |

Are you considering to use a PC lens with an EVF finder..?..look, i`m not one to argue..it`s just that admittedly ,my rather shallow experience with EVF finders cause me to wonder if that is the route to take...as far as I could tell, the EVF is Not the best finder for such application as it is rather difficult to judge the view under those circumstances. The Very reason that I`m Not even considering a Z camera is that I have several PC Nikkors, which are used oftentimes, and could be viewed as my Primary set-up even. Have you or have others tried a PC with EVF ?...Would Love to hear your experiences. |

I havent tested my 24mm PCE on the FTZ adapter on my Z7 yet. I am just in the process of moving house so dont have much time. I am thinking the PCE wont work on the TFZ/Z7 but will report back when I have tested. |

Since my last posting , have I become the proud and Immensely Happy owner of the PC-E Nikkor 19 f4.0 ....only 3mnths. old and bought for 1/3 of price,it is a Humdinger of a lens , in Optical Quality and Handling incl. Weight and Size...and with last X-mas there was the IRIX Blackstone 11mm f4.0 ( also a HeavyWeight ) under the tree accompanied by a Lenovo Legion loaded with Win. 10, which I will have to learn how to use !!) and I am preparing to Leave for Far East in Ten days !!! Airline weight restrictions are now a major headache as my PC-E Nikkors are Hefty pieces of Glass... The 11 f4.0 and the PC-E 19..Will come along ( even tho` they can n`t take filters )...but of the others I`m Not sure yet..altho`PC-E 24 ..PC 28..PC35 and PC-E Micro 85 do take Cokin P filters. I wish I could take the 14-24 and the 70-210 f4.0 for those times when having to be quick about it..tho` that does Not seem likely.. I would also like to take Both the D3s and the D3X...as I will have Two bags ,..a Lowepro slingbag and a TENBA roller/backpack ...but those weight restrictions... There are some of us here who also travel with heavy gear by airliner...if I dare Ask , Graham Whistler has recently been to Africa and showed some Fantastic images from there..shot with a 200-500 even ( Big and Heavy bugger ) how did you manage that,...did you pay overprice for the X-tra weight ?... Looking forward to Pointers and Solutions. |

Hope your trip is OK and the decisions as to which equipment to take. I think for me it is a D3X as it will give you the most from the lenses you take. What type of images do you expect to make? That dictates the lens choice. |

jk wrote:Well you didnt ask for it but I am green envious! 19mm f4.0 PCE.Well J K , mostly \" scapes \"...and then some, as I will be overthere for half a year, yes, the 19 was something I was convinced to be made of Unobtemium..but then, a videographer who used it for One project and then decided it was somewhat cumbersome...when I showed-up for its purchase , he did n`t really know how to explain to use it,..but when he noticed the PC 28 on the D3X his face brightened considerably... And yes, the D3X would be the preference, last time it was the D3s,...Yet, I would really like to take Both with me, for my base is a flat in K L malaysia,..so I can make-up a \" Rig for the day \"...but the weight restrictions....how did You do all those travels , I remember Hong Kong was a steady diet for you some time ago...and you seem to scutle back and forth between England and Spain...do you pay overprice..??? |
