The Sigma 800 is 'only' £4-5000 in the UK. So I guess the Nikon version will come in at twice that price!

Seems like getting a Nikon 400mm f2.8 with a Kenko DG300 Pro x2 (like I currently have) is a smaller and lighter (relative term!) option.

Good, long, light and fast lenses don't come cheap.

Definitely cheaper.
The fact that all my main lenses are now f2.8 and AFS means that my collection/tool bag is complete.
Same with the DSLR cameras.
I just need to go take more pictures.
