Focuses as fast as my nikon lenses. It's sharp but a tad (only a tad) down on contrast. This is easily adjusted in CS. The biggest disappointment is its incompatibility with Kenko and Nikon TCs. I have to use a Sigma 1.7x TC, but it's not that good. I tend to crop the D300/D7000 straight images rather than use it. The other issue with Sigma lenses is ...not all lenses are the same. I remember Phil Tompkinson (Blue Yonder) saying he often sent his new Sigma lenses back to Sigma to get them adjusted properly! I guess I was lucky with mine ...or easily pleased. It's a pity you aren't closer to me, you could have borrowed it. Robert used it around my garden on a visit in 2011... he may have a view. |

I was hanging back to let Eric reply first. I was very impressed with the lens, not used to AF, most of my lenses are MF. I took a few photo's with it, not a real test but just to see how it worked. Your dates are a bit out Eric! 1st July 2009... Think this will be from the D200. Attachment: Screen Shot 2013-01-08 at 20.20.54.jpg (Downloaded 32 times) |

Yes, may be soon(ish). Once the Marlin is finished I will need to shake it down... I knew it wasn't 2011 but I didn't think it was so long ago. It was a wonderful day, I think I want to the Cambridge Botanic garden the next day and it was sweltering, 33ÂșC on the M11 motorway @ 70. |
