I have a pair of (US) PocketWizard MaxII units which work fine but I also have a (UK) set of PocketWizard Mini TT1 and 3x TT5 units.  Since the units are US (FCC) and UK (CE) devices they dont interact.

I also have some cheap Chinese radio slaves but these only tend to work with each other and of the same make.

Does anyone know of a make (other than PocketWizards) that will wirelelssly trigger the Pocket Wizard units ?

I know this is a long shot but I dont want to buy 2 more TT5 units just for occasional use!!!

JK I cannot remember the details now, but I did once get profoto to fire pocket wizards or the other way around. But I have a vague recollection that it was not simple and that I had to do some very non-standard kludging. Sorry not to be of more help.
Ed

This might help

Thanks Ed for the link.
I want something that works as an instead or as well as!
I guess I will need to get another couple of TT5 units. Expensive but guaranteed to work.

I just read this in a Zack Aria blog...might work:

Wein Safe Sync :: This is an IR transmitter. This little guy sits on your hotshoe and fires a light with a built in optical slave. The $73 Yongnuo flashes I've been using lately have such a slave and the two work together quite well. Even in bright sunlight. The reason I have this is for the x100s. Being that it can sync at stupid fast shutter speeds, my Pocket Wizard Plus III's can't keep up. The radio latency is too slow. Nothing beats the speed of light though so the IR sync is one way to go.

Well the speed of light and the speed of 'Radio' are one and the same, so it must be the electronics in the unit that are different.

I need to have radio units rather than IR as I want to sync with my othe PW TT5 units so all have to use the same radio fequency.
If you use a mix of IR, light and/or radio frequency then you get occasional misfires or no-fires.

Wow... What a surprise for me... I just tried syncing the x100 and a nikon sb800 using a pocket wizard. As I'm sure you know, that was a waste of time :-)

What do you think of the idea in the Zack Arias blog? Sounds like th whole shebang costs under $100.

What have you worked out?

I can get my X100 with PW Plus ii  (US versions) in the hotshoe to fire my SB800s  when I use them as a pair of PW Plus ii units.  I only have two of them.
Likewise my cameras Nikon and Fuji XPro1, XE1, X100 all work with the PW TT1 in the hotshoe and 3x PW TT5 controlling the flashes.  The PW TT1 and TT5 units are all CE/EU models so dont share the same frequency as the US versions.  Dont you just love standards.  Yes I should have not got US units but I did and a long time ago.

But I need to have a wireless trigger that will fire them all together.  Unfortunately I cant mix the PW Plus ii units with the TT1 and TT5 units, so I need to either replace my two PW Plus ii units with CE/EU versions of the same or get two more TT5 units.
