Hi Guys. As you are all into the well-known manipulation of photographic images, I would like your comments on WACOM products. I bought an early used Intuoso on Saturday from CeX ( a webuy shop) and spent the rest of the day trying to get it to work. It was not seen by the computer or the software. I took it back and they refunded the money, but only after they tested it to see if it really didn't work. The answer was it's either the battery ( which it didn't have as it was not equipped for wireless,) or the cable, which I had tested with my mobile phone plugged into the computer and it worked. I asked why they had not checked it before they put it on sale - no answer was the loud reply!! Before I go any further, it will be interesting to read your comments.

Nothing wrong with Wacom but I hear the drivers can cause issues! Used resale is always taking a chance -many don't know how to or don't test items for sale. I usually look at refurbished stuff from specialist dealers like this on Ebay - eBay item number:134085752927

I used Wacom tablets for 20+years….threw the mouse in the cupboard. Plugged into Windows platforms there were no problems and once you get into using a stylus rather than a mouse you will never turn back. Can I recommend you try a Wacom One like this When I went to MACbook my Bamboo (earlier example of the One) wouldn’t work and I got one of these from Argos which worked on Mac immediately. Unless you are planning to do CAD drawings getting a large size Wacom (ie bigger than A5) can be a literal pain in the neck….you end up moving the pen over large distances all the time. For photo editing and general computer navigation an A5 is all you need. Some purists will say the movements are too sensitive ( ie the scaling of A5 movements to a full screen image) but I find that total rubbish, you just zoom the image. It’s so much more comfortable to just move your wrist rather than your shoulder to reach the top corners of the screen….trust me ….I spent hours most days editing images and creating layouts on an A5. You don’t need a wireless one with batteries. Plug it in and rest it on the arm of the chair!
