iOS7

There are changes to the way that tiles or icons show.  They are now flatter and dont have the different effects.   This is much more efficient as it requires less imagery.
iOS 7 Supported Devices These are the officially supported iOS 7 devices:
  • iPhone 4
  • iPhone 4S
  • iPhone 5
  • iPad 2
  • iPad 3
  • iPad 4
  • iPad Mini
  • iPod touch 5th gen

New OSX

Apple also showed off the next version of its operating system for Macintosh computers, which will be called Mavericks - ending its tradition of naming its OS updates after types of big cat.

New Hardware

Apple also announced new laptops using Intel's Haswell processors, as well as a redesigned Mac Pro desktop which will use Intel's Xeon E5 CPU (central processing unit) and two FirePro GPUs (graphics processing units) made by AMD. Apple noted that the cylindrical Mac Pro was "one-eighth the volume" of its previous model and could support up to three 4K resolution displays.

As I understand Apple TV it is primarily for off line viewing, i.e. video which has already downloaded over night or last week, also for watching on-demand stuff, which can be pre-downloaded, I think...

I don't watch TV so it's just my impression, otherwise why would you need a computer in the chain? Just have a TV if you want to watch live TV.

I actually use the Apple TV a lot, and stream live a fair amount of the time. Gives you a massive content library and pay as you use, rather than an on going cost we get with our version of Sky.

My wife (who always said she would never buy downloadable content) has become a huge user of Apple TV
She seems to buy a new season of some tv show about 3 times a week

These shows are all available (in the cloud) to any device any time there is decent broadband and we have them all stored locally on a spare Mac with a copy of iTunes, home sharing and a couple of giant hard drives

We also have hundreds of movies ripped from our dvd collection available to every tv in the house and to every iOS device not to mention our music collection which is available worldwide thanks to iTunes Match

To save (a lot) of money, I always buy itunes/app store gift vouchers after checking http://www.giftcardsonsale.com.au

I think that model of use/purchase is much better for the customer.  I dont like the Adobe, Sky subscription models.

To each his/her own I guess.
