So I have tried Everything I could do, but No-go ...past 30 meter it will NOT Focus ( the focus ring does turn to infinity ), ..until that it is Perfect.

Nikon Danmark says it is Too Old , No parts etc.

Anyone knows of someone who has the Parts / Competence to fix my Precious ?

I am considering to purchase a 2nd hand zoom Nikkor 16-35 f4.0 for 1/2 price , most say nothing but Good about it ( there seems to be some sample variation )..but it`s around here , so I suppose I could check it out, ..any pointers ?

But f4.0 vs. f2.8..

Anyhoo..I Love my 20-35...when my Sigma 21-35 was stolen ( long time ago )I was in a shambles , but the 20-35 lifted my spirits again...but No Infinity ?..

I love that li`ll gem , sooo...

Anyone knows of someone who can fix it for a reasonable fee ?...or is it like several claim , " a people/ short distance lens ??...if so then I wonder why there are infinity settings for 20mm and 35 mm tho`..

Feedback is Appreciated.

Robert

Erik Lund, Copenhagen.

I will contact him and get his eMail...

Very skilled lens man, resourceful and realistic. I will PM you later when I have details.

This sounds like it has been adjusted/serviced by someone and put back together incorrectly.
I purchased a 105mm f1.8 AIS lens which was a great performer but the front elements kept unscrewing. I managed to get a service manual and eventually worked out they had not put the lens back together correctly. Indeed after a couple of attempts I now have a perfectly performing 105mm f1.8 lens.

I think that wideangle zooms are more complex so I would agree that a trip to Erik Lund might be a good result.
