Not sure exactly which model it is but here is a screenshot of the Apple prices...

May not be the retina one but I am sure it will do a good job.

I seem to be able to work OK with my MBP 13" non retina?

I accept retina is better but not essential by any stretch of imagination.

I'd agree that Retina screen is a nice to have rather than a necessity.
Both my 17" and 15" Macbook Pros are non-retina screens and I have worked happily on them doing Photoshop editing.   That said it is easier on a larger 24" or 27" screen.
