Nikon seem to produce wireless connectivity for the their cameras but it is always very high cost for something that should be a lot cheaper as this is now commodity technology.

I found this alternative if you have a D3, D700, D300, D4 or D800.
http://nikonrumors.com/2012/04/10/another-alternative-44-wi-fi-solution-for-nikon-d4.aspx/

It should work as I say on all of the above cameras.
There are other solutions I have found. I will paste urls in case anyone is interested in the other alternatives.

Thanks JK that looks interesting. I have a WT2 for my D2Xs but I have never been able to get it working properly, and probably won't bother now, fortunately I only paid $99 for it so not much of a loss.

Playing the Devil's Advocat....

I wonder how many people really need wifi?
There are a number of photographic professions that benefit from this feature but most of us merely need to take full advantage of the LCD (which we never even had in film days)

I find the more equipment I have, carry, stick on the camera...the more it puts me off taking pictures.

I wonder how often I would use it.
I had a WT3 but was unhappy and sold it to an Event Photographer. In fact I PXed with him for his Nikon 300mm f2.8 AFS that I still have and use.

The WT3 was not very good and I would be very reticent to kick out to get a WT4 or WT5 at £700+
However I actually have most of the bits for building the self build item so it is a fun project.

My problem is that the D2 and D3 have only USB outputs which makes the whole thing a bit less easy. I doubt that I would use a wireless connection very much, it would be nice to have the option though.

I think it is a nice to have item which if it was at or under £100 I would say Yes to but at £700+ for a WT5 I say 'No thanks'.
