Updates on the adobe site for ACR 7.4 release candidate - fixes the cropping overlay for fuji xe1 raw files...finally I can use the camera to shoot raw only!!!

Some other fixes and stuff that will be deemed not too critical but you will love it for the x series.

Oh yeah... Adds support for Nikon V1, too.

Yes indeed. In my current busy mode getting ready to go on my travels I forgot to post.

There is some improvement in output when processing RAW files from the X Trans sensor from Fuji.

I still think Capture One v.7.0.2 and best of all SilkyPix v.3.2.9.1 provide better results.

Remind me....do I have to upgrade CS5 to CS6 to use this ACR version?

I think you do, Eric.

And if you use the xe1 a lot, it will be worth it.

JK is somewhat right about capture 1 - it is a little sharper, but you can adjust or set an ACR sharpening profile. And Silky Pix is just too cumbersome for me.

Not to mention that I have a gadzillion presets and plugins for Photoshop that I can't live without, no matter how much Adobe tries to irritate me :-)

Yes. You need CS6 to use ACRv7.x

My Ps-Cs5 says my software is up to date, also Lr3.6 seems stuck on ACR 6.6. o.O

It is if you have CS5 then ACR 6.8 is the latest version as is Lightroom v.3.6 for LR3

However there is a LR4.4 and ACR7.4 (for CS6).
:-)

Also the Adobe Update may not be working if you have LittleSnitch enabled.

I think you would like CS6 Eric, even if just for the fact it's faster and can save in the background whilst you continue to work.

Probably little benefit for me to have ACR 6.8 I expect it only enables newer cameras.

I don't have Little Snitch enabled because it doesn't play well with my current OS although I just read that there is a new up to date release of LS which does.

Probably will do just that. Need to upgrade my computer first though.

On Mac my CS6 runs very well on my older hardware that is running Snow Leopard and has 4GB RAM.
Cant speak for what happens on Windows. Probably needs i10 twin processors and 32GB RAM ;-)
