Wine'o'clock it is, unless there is a good stout available for trial.  Mind you IPA washes down a nice ploughman's lunch!
Fancy stealing a poor old ploughman’s lunch! Shame on you.

I am afraid I was on the Theakston’s Old Peculiar last night and a Broadside to wash them down. Boy I slept well

I used to like an Abbot Ale, but then I was reminded of the truism……..

“When the bottom is falling out of your world, drink an Abbot Ale….and have the world falling out of your bottom.”

I am not a great beer drinker but I quite like an " Old Speckled Hen" - now made by Greene King, I think - I last drank it at the Morlands brewery having been "locked in" in the brewery tap on an MG visit!

This was Ol speckled un - not a hen but a works runabout - I saw this car at Morlands brewery.

Somewhere I have a photo of my MG parked there under a "Dead Slow" warning sign..... I must try and find it!

I saw a similar opportunity at a vintage car gathering ….almost as long ago as the vehicles.

Seeing that image again made me wonder why “miles per hour” was displayed as mpH rather than mph?

True…but even back in the day when I was more able, and when iso really controlled quality….I always said… “if it needs more than a 1000iso, it’s time for the pub”.
Of course noise control has moved on significantly since I was earning my crust from a camera. I would probably now say (camera system dependant)  “if it needs more than 5000iso, it’s time for the pub”.

Sounds like an excuse to me! Any time is wine o'clock with current temperatures.

My guess is that the signwriter had no stencil for h and used the stencils for 1 and made up their own H - see the top of the L, I would expect the tops of the H to be the same style if it really was an H.

It was on the Sandringham estate. You would expect their signwriter to have a surplus of Hs for HRH.
He had an “m”…… half of it would be an “n”…. which when added to the “1” ….would have created a half decent lowercase “h”.

Sloppy workmanship
