Having bought the camera based on the logic that I already had two lenses to fit it I.e a Nikkor 50mm f1.4 ais and a vivitar 200mm f3.5 both obviously manual focus . I am now looking for more reach , I have quiet a few I'm watching on evil bay ranging from 70-300vr through 300mm f4 af and also a lot of Nikon 300mm manual focus . Through to sigma/tamron 150-600 variants .the latter being the obvious choice for reach but not aperture . .. my old 300 f4 with t.c 's was a firm favourite but no vr ...

Somebody give me a cheap option p.o.v oo.O

Zooms don't play well with TC's, ideal would be the new PF lenses but they ain't cheap.

I have an AFS 70-300 f/4.5-5.6G VR which is unloved, I usually pick up the 300f/2.8 despite it being MF if I want reach. I got it when I got the D3 but hardly use it. Unlike the 24-120, which together with the 16mm fisheye, I love on the D3.

If your interested I am sure I could be persuaded to part with it. Far as I know it's in perfect condition.

PS. I was recently made aware of this market place, the prices are very appealing. I have not had any dealings with them but know someone who has.

sounds interesting Robert , can you p.m me a price please .

as for MPB I have dealt with them in the past but if selling they tend to be very picky over items and will often beat you down on offered price and seen a few complaints on other forums where there have been problems with items

just ordered a Tokina 400mm SD f5.6 manual focus lens , not what I really wanted but it fits my budget requirements at the moment and if needed will also fit/ work with the micro four thirds gear with the adaptor which I already have . . should hopefully get it just before xmas .
at just over a hundred quid its not going to break me . . it will do for now anyway

No it would have been personal delivery only! I don't do posting lenses if I can avoid it.

Just tying to be optimistic.

Until you try it you won't know. Sometimes if you don't expect a lot you get a pleasant surprise. o.O

When I first started doing the sport I was using a Tokina 300mm f2.8 and the IQ was good.

You might find something to tickle your fancy here? It's where my D800 would have gone had I not bought it.

I have never dealt with them myself, I think they are telephone or on-line only, which puts me off because I like to see before I buy.

I bought a DX 16-80 zoom lens from them ...for the D500. Good condition. Not sure how keen they are on prices though. Then again they've been in business for long enough to know their pricing works. It did for me, after all.

Well I'm very pleased to say that today I got confirmation from sigma u.k of my extended 3 year warranty on the 150-600 I got last week in the sales ,

You always wonder when you buy something at a to good to be true price , so there you go a b.n.i.b sigma 150-600C for an amazing £524 pounds with 3 years. Sigma warranty . Well pleased :thumbs:
