I have just done a first for me lighting the male nude in my RPS Studio workshop last week. The two soft boxes on my Elinchrom Studio Flash heads were at 45 degrees back left and right. The only fill at from came from the white walls in the studio. Black cloth background picked up very little from the very directional lighting but some post production was done to hide the odd fold in the cloth. Camera was Nikon D800 with the 24-70mm f2.8 AF-S at f14 65mm. The 16 students all were most impressed with the very professional model James and plenty of good pictures were taken in the 1/2 day we worked with him. We had 3 very good girls for the other 3 1/2 day sessions. Attachment: RPS3919BG.jpg (Downloaded 44 times)

The softbox on the left is 2x6 feet and level with the back of the backcloth pointing at 45 degrees towards the model. The light on right is 3x3 ft softbox also similar position and angle. I've done very rough drawing so hope it helps! The flare from left was added in Photoshop. Attachment: Lighting.jpg (Downloaded 38 times)

This is another RPS Workshop last year and this pix was done with the same lighting set-up but in a much darker studio so there was less fill from white walls in the front giving more dramatic lighting. I also took this with Nikon D800. Attachment: CheltRPS3329.jpg (Downloaded 46 times)

We had a demo evening at Gosport Camera Club last night. I did a small table top studio flash lighting demo, these are my two demo pixs with one studio flash and two reflectors. Sony A1 on M and black b/g cloth doctored in Photoshop to add little bit of colour. ![]() SONY - ILCE-1 f/10.0 : Speed 1/160 : ISO 160 : Lens FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS ![]() SONY - ILCE-1 f/20.0 : Speed 1/160 : ISO 160 : Lens FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS
