| When I preordered to get the LR special price, the adobe Web site showed that CS6 Photoshop would be available for download on May 7. By the time most of you see this, it will be May 7, so go for it. upgrade price was $199 - you can get a code for a 15% discount if you are an NAPP member. cheers, tom

| Only for those of you lucky enough to have a US credit card and address. This is one of the things that really, really annoys me with Adobe. If they want your $£â‚¬ then it doesnt matter where the card is registered or where the product is downloaded to as long as it is paid for.

| Oh I forgot to say if you have CS6 then there is a ACR7.1 update. Nothing new just some CA/defringing fixes. And still no support for XPro1 RAW files. I expect that soon though as they have a beta that is being used by DPReview when they tested the XPro1 recently.

| I've downloaded the upgrade but haven't installed...waiting to hear if it has the typical new version issues that the last two versions had (I waited 9 months to install CS5 because of that). I know I could install the new one and keep the old one, but then I never can figure out how to eventually delete the old one and also be sure all of my plugins are transferred correctly - I've especially had a problem with Portrait Pro every time! So I like to go to the new version once I am confident it will be trouble free and delete the old one and transfer everything to it as part of the install. Has anyone tried the Mac upgrade yet? Any problems? Tom

| I think there is an uninstaller in the Adobe folder Tom but with the Mac, uninstall is fairly simple although perhaps not 100% but then I don't think Adobe uninstallers are 100%... There will be hidden files and some scattered around the libraries. On a Mac simple select the file to remove and press cmd+delete or drag to the trash. In 'Application Support' in your library folder, find the Adobe files and remove the Ps5 versions. If you don't see the library folder on your Mac, in a finder window, select the 'Go' Menu, then press the 'alt' key, which will reveal the Library link in the menu.

I think I am safe with that process as far as removing just CS5 goes, but what I am worried about is keeping all the licenses for plug-ins straight. They all worked fine when I selected the install for CS5 that deleted CS4 but I remember the mess I had with an earlier version when I ran the two side by side and then later deleted the early version. Your new Color efex is a good example of a complicated plugin. It will transfer fine if you move it when you install CS6, but what happens when you install CS6 side by side??? Maybe it is simpler than I think since all the apps are on the same mac, but I would like to be sure before trying to run both CS5 and CS6. I'm pretty willing to wait (since there is not support for Fuji xpro-1 in ACR yet) until I hear most people who have installed CS6 on macs say they are not having any serious problems (I can live with arcane issues that don't really stop my workflow which is pretty simple). OK, I get you now Tom, Probably de-install the plugins first then re-install with the later Ps6 installation. I have an issue with the Nik Color efex plugins, they don't like Lion or Mountain Lion, which is my current OS... Bit of a show stopper for me. Maybe in time I will get updates.

| Robert- If you install CS6 and delete CS5 as part of the install, the NIK (and most other) plugins will transfer properly to CS6. The big problem comes from installing CS6 along side CS5, I think. I have Lion on both my macs and all the NIK products are supported. I doubt that any of the complex plugins are yet set up for Mountain Lion. Tom

| If they will run in Lion then I think they will be Ok in ML. ML is a development of Lion, the big step was up to Lion, like Leopard and Snow Leopard. I think the Nik plugin's I have are old, at v3.1. I have heard they are now at v4. Bed, it's almost 1am.

| Robert- I have ver 4. I think that is the only version that will work with Lion. Fairly reasonable upgrade prices for the whole suite and worth it if it will get you all the way to Mtn Lion, I think. Cheers, Tom

| Not so far. I dont expect any but my plugins need a reinstall to be found as they have not be picked up automatically.

| That is true but I always double run until the new version of Photoshop is completely supported by all my plugins. Nik and OnOne plugins installed into CS6 no problem.
