I didnt follow the link past the Adobe account logon as I am on my iPad but it looks like Adobe continue to have ACS2 download available.

Not only CS2, but also a number of software such as Premiere, Acrobat Pro etc. and their unlock codes - all free of charge.

I can imagine how big the profit was to support such generosity.

Is this upgradeable?

I was thinking about Gary and his entry into Photoshop editing.

Could he download this and (pay for) upgrade to CS3???

I would guess not. To upgrade you need a paid for and registered unlock code.

I remember that a few months ago Adobe announced that it would change its upgrade policy so that only owners of the most recent versions may enjoy the special upgrade price.

But I'm not quite sure if Adobe actually made the change.

The problem with 'old' versions of software like CS2 is that they will ONLY run on 'old' computers with 'old' OS's.

What are we talking about here! CS2 old??? Anything more than two versions back is pretty well obsolete if you want to keep up to date with the hardware.

I had hoped that computers were somehow reaching a plateau but I somehow doubt it.

Quadruple returns seem to force para line spacing.

You are of course correct.
Sadly most obsolete software, like obsolete DSLRs, would still outstrip most users capabilities. CS2 and a D200 will still bring home the bacon.
I am beginning to believe that after Bankers, software developers are the next worse muggers.
