| Nikon today announce the arrival of the D750. http://www.dpreview.com/previews/nikon-d750 Another 24MP FX camera but with a tilting back screen and wifi built in. Still no sight or rumour of the unicorn-like D400.

| I think you might be looking at it Jonathan, I can't see them bringing out anything more than the D7100 in DX. I'm waiting to see the Canon 7D mk2 but I kind of think it might be FF as well.

| Got more than enough cameras to satisfy my needs. My next purchase will be a Fuji XT1 or XE2 so that my XE1 can be converted to lR, or I will wait for the XPro2 to be released in 2015. I have Nikon D800, D600, D3S, D3, D300, D90, D80-IR 690nm converted, D70-IR 720nm converted, D70, D1X. Still have F3 and F301 for film. Then Fuji XT1, XPro1, XE1, X100.

| The price is interesting at $2300US as it was expected to fall in the $2700US range. $2300US was around the list price of the D600 when it was introduced. I got my D600 from a local dealer for $2000Cdn with taxes a while after it was out. Like jk I have enough cameras to satisfy my needs so I'm not even tempted by the D750, well maybe just a bit:~).

| The specs sound good but its in a small frame maybe they should have called it the D650?

| Just found out that the D750 shares the same Highlight metering mode that is present in the D810. Also the same battery is used in D7000, D7100, D600, D610, D800 and D810. Very nice. Maybe my D3, D700 will get released for a D750.

I vote for a D400 also...though my D300s is still humming along just fine

| The build quality on the Dxxxx and the specification doesnt tend to be the equal of the Dxxx range. Likewise the Dxxx does match the Dx range of cameras. Personally the universal connector of the newer cameras doesnt work as well for me as the old 10pin connector. The new universal connector probably delivers equal or better functionality than the 10pin connector.

| Has the D750 got a low pass filter? I agree I still look for the D400. But I do like the sound of the new 20mm AF_S f1.8 it's a good move as the old 20mm is very long in the tooth. I do have the 14-24mm AF-S f2.8 great lens and great weight so it is often not in my camera bag when I need it! | That's very nice Graham, thanks for the thought! I think the D750 does have a LPF but the strength can vary between bodies, some are more prone to unsharpness than others I understand. I guess the only way to be sure would be for one of us to buy it and try it? Deep down, although I am very attached to my D200's I somehow feel if I did buy another body it will be an FX, I have always felt the DX format was a temporary expedient until Nikon worked out how to make a 35mm sensor, which the called the FX. My policy was always to try to buy film lenses knowing that eventually Nikon would develop a proper sensor. I chose my lenses carefully, with this in mind.

| And the problem with small bodies is there is less room for controls, which mean omitting them and using menu selection or doubling up functions by context. Either way it can lead to confusion and a constant need for a manual or crib sheet.
